The Story of This Object

A cold-process soap made with lavender grown in our garden in Vermont and colloidal oats milled on-site. The lavender is harvested at peak bloom and dried slowly to preserve its essential oils. The oats are ground fine enough to dissolve in water, leaving skin soft rather than exfoliated. The soap is cured for six weeks before it is sold โ€” long enough for the lye to fully saponify and the bar to become genuinely mild.

Meet the Maker

Elena R.

Owner of ๐ŸŒธ The Soap Garden ยท Bathroom Bay Circle

Elena started making soap in her kitchen after her daughter developed sensitive skin and she couldn't find products gentle enough. What began as a necessity became a calling. The Soap Garden now grows most of its own botanicals on a small plot in Vermont and makes everything in a converted barn that smells, as one customer put it, like the best version of outside.
